HARRIE
SMOLDERS

Beyond his Olympic, international and national accolades, one of Harrie's most well-known traits is his talent at being able to maximise the absolute best out of any horse or rider, as well as bringing together the right partnership at the right time. Over the years, he has built up a formidable reputation as being one of the world's top trainers - working exclusively with clients on achieving goals and growing potential.

Due to his expansive network, Harrie also has the ability to find the right horse for the right rider - these horses might be high-quality jumpers for any level but also hunters, breeding mares and foals.

Harrie's passion for building long-term partnerships between a horse and it's rider is not only in the discovery of the perfect horse for a rider, but also in the management of that relationship and a clear plan for the future - always with a long term goal in mind.

CHRIS
SORENSEN

Chris Sorensen has been around horses his entire life, coming from a family that has always been in the equestrian industry.  He represented Canada in Nations Cup competition and served as president of Equestrian Canada. He launched multiple events and entrepreneurial projects in the equestrian industry, including The Hunt, the first-ever European Hunter Auction and Equine Integration, leaders in the equine sports science industry.

Chris established Sorensen Stables in 2004 to expand his horse sales and training business. The coaching side of the business quickly grew, as did the successes of Chris’ clients in hunter, jumper and equitation classes. Chris’ students have achieved success in major show rings across North America with notable accomplishments including coaching the highest-placed Canadian individual at the 2015 and 2016 FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships, and highest-placed Canadian at the US Medal and Maclay Finals for three years. In 2016, Chris became one of Canada’s first-ever High Performance 1 level certified coaches. He also serves on the Equestrian Canada Board of Directors.

In 2013, Chris earned his “red jacket” when he was named to the Canadian Show Jumping Team for his first Nations Cup at Spruce Meadows, followed by the Nations Cup in Brazil, where Chris placed 4th in the individual World Cup Grand Prix. In 2014, Chris traveled reserve for the Canadian Show Jumping Team at the 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France, and subsequently represented Canada at the 2015 FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final. Chris' relocation to Europe has allowed him to compete in regional, national and international shows on a weekly basis, also bringing him into direct contact with the horses competing at the highest level worldwide.
